The party had just defeated Skabatha Nightshade and her red caps and were standing in the kitchen
The kitchen had a large clay oven in the middle of the room surrounded by tables and shelves
There is a young girl, Mischka, chained to a table that was hiding under the table during the combat
A grate in the floor of the room that contained a dwarf
Barnabus freed Mischka with his thieves tool then set to work on the padlock of the grate
He easily opened the lock and lowered a rope to get the dwarf out of the pit that was filled with composting food scraps and dank water
Amrynn found Will who confirmed that all the kids were safe and accounted for after the fight
PB confirmed that Skabatha was really dead and searched her, finding that one of her eyes popped out and appears unnatural which Barnabus took
They took a short rest and talked with the dwarf who introduced himself as Elkhorn, a member of Valor’s Call
They searched the kitchen and found a few things of note: a recipe book for potion crafting, 6 brass egg-shaped cups, and Elkhorn’s sword and shield which they returned to him
He offered his sword to the party (a +1 longsword) in exchange for a different weapon so he wasn’t unarmed
They also found a cookbook with a footlong, gnarled root being used to mark a page for a random candy recipe but the root itself seems to belong some sort of magical plant (maybe Little Oak might be able to identify it?)
Amrynn went to open the oven while they were looking around and saw two large black spheres that turned out to be eyes and a large fire elemental surged out
After trying quite a few things, Amrynn thought back to when they had encountered the sentient flame back in Downfall and said “spittlespew”
The elemental quickly made it’s way out of the room and wandered away
There was nothing else in the oven
PB grabbed the other paintings from the hall and used Skabatha’s severed head on the thorns and the paintings turned back into the hags (Skabatha, Bavlorna, and Endolyn as well as a skeletal, nightmarish one they don’t know) and a svelte, dark-haired woman
Up the stairs there as a room with several looms and a book of sketches (worth aprox 50gp)
Amrynn noticed some dark oily spots on the ground and noticed some creatures on the ground
Squirt, the talking oil can, said they were boggles and that they would be able to give him boggle oil
Barnabus gestured with Squirt and asked the boggle for some oil which then caused the three boggles to attack
The party easily dispatch the boggles and squirt sucks up their oil greedily until he announces he’s full
They then explored the hallway that Skabatha came from which was mostly storage and didn’t contain much of note other than a few feywild trinkets
On the other side of the kitchen was a sort of study, with a desk in the center of the room and shelves of books surrounding the walls
A large mirror was on one wall (very similar to the one they saw in Bavlorna’s cottage) and a staircase led upwards
There was a clockwork toad and a magical quill that requires no ink on the desk
They went upstairs and it was a bedroom that was neatly organized in contrast to the rest of Loomlurch
Barnabus felt a pull towards a disgusting dollhouse that opened on hinges and when looked in the basement of the dollhouse he found a small metal screwdriver
He made the motion of loosening screws below his armpits and he felt himself being able to fly again, restoring his lost flight ability that was taken from him
There were a few lootable items that Barnabus put in his bag of holding (embroidered slippers worth 15g, a golden eyeball, and a cracked bejeweled mirror worth 65g)
PB investigated a cradle in the room which was decorated with images of green dragons (likely the bed of the green dragon they fought in the kitchen)
An attached room was full of bird cages containing clockwork sparrows with a desk that seemed to be used for writing letters and they found Skabatha’s letters
PB opened the jack in the boxes in some of the rooms that turned out to be empty and one of the kids said that the dragon liked to hide in the boxes
They met with Chucklehead, the goblin leader, who was overjoyed to have Yvelda back
Elkhorn said he would look after the kids with Will while the party looks into how to defeat the other hags and free Zybilna
