The party had just defeated a taxidermy chimera outside of the castle of the Soggy Court
King Ickrind was allegedly in the castle according to Colonel Slimetongue of the First Reconnaissance Unit
As they collected themselves, a knight opened the castle door and motioned them inside
King Ickrind welcomed them and said that things started going wrong a day or two after they left
The chimera appeared from the center of the swamp where Bavlorna’s cottage is
The taxidermy zombies started appearing shortly after that
They prepared a swampy feast for the party of some soup
Begrudgingly, King Ickrind gave them some items as a reward for slaying the chimera (a potion of greater healing, a scroll of identify, a potion of growth, and some assorted gems)
They decide to head to Bavlorna’s cottage to deliver the painting of Skabatha and complete their deal and then they may have to fight her
They made their way to the cottage in one of the castle’s boat
When they entered the cottage, she was waiting for them on a lily pad with two lornlings in the pool with the well in the middle
She said that she knows what they’ve been up to and the fact that they have a deal is the only reason they’re still here
Amrynn handed over the painting to one of the Lornlings, in return they gave him a backscratcher that morphed into his, restoring it
Another lornling brings a jar with a light inside to PB that turns out to be 7-up
Bavlorna said that they must pay for their actions and that she wasn’t done extracting her punishment on the bullywugs and her lornlings leapt to attack
She rose up on the lily pad which had long tendrils it used to move and then she grabbed Barnabus out of the air and put him in her open mouth (grappled)
Amrynn used his magic to temporarily dispel the enchanted lily pad, throwing her off balance and freeing Barnabus
While that was happening, PB entered a rage and charged Bavlorna with his longsword
Melina used her echo to inflict several attacks in rapid succession taking large chunks of mud off and potentially some flesh
Barnabus flew around her “widdershins” (counter-clockwise) and she started sneezing uncontrollably
Bavlorna dislocated her jaw like a snake and latched onto PB
After he struggled and failed to get out, Melina sprinted across the room, killed a lornling that was attacking PB from behind
She then kicked off of PB’s shell, doing a flip over the hag, landing in hero pose to land a devastating blow before standing up and doing one more slice to remove her head, pulling it off of PB
They recovered the painting from before
They explored the cottage now that Bavlorna was dispatched
In the kitchen, they ran into Bloody Toes who said that now the hag is dead, he can kill whoever he wants and then charged the party
They outnumbered him handily and killed him
They entered into the magical freezer and forced open a frozen chest and found a beating heart (likely Octavian Melaiamne’s) that was keeping her pantry cold
They left it in the chest they found it in and carried the whole thing with them
In the aviary, there is a crumpled letter addressed to Bavlorna, “I am insulted that you think I have taken your thread. Sorry it’s going to make it difficult to put together your monsters. ~ Endy”
This likely means that the thread they found earlier after defeating Charm’s shadow which means she was likely
They returned to the bullywug castle and they told King Ickrind that Bavlorna was dead
The bullwugs celebrated
They asked after Octavian Melaiamne and the king told them he was likely still to the southeast where they met him before
The party made their way over to him who was still very depressed and surrounded by a saddened aura
They gave the heart back to him and it slowly dissolved into him and was replaced with a gray goat’s heart and he instantly became cheerful and
He gave Amrynn the pipes he was mournfully playing before
They went back to the castle, started a celebration that was kicked off with Amrynn shooting a fireball into Bavlorna’s cottage from the shore
PB used his alchemy jug to supply gallons of beer for the party
They celebrated late into the evening with the plan to set off for Yon in search of Melina’s twin and Amador the dandelion
